Most of the times, thoughts about a guilty past can suffocate our present and deeply darken our lives. Mentally revisiting all our past actions and endlessly analysing them make us feel guilty, dissatisfied, scared and unworthy. But God has redeemed us and wants us to abandon the guilty state in which we are used to live. When the past threatens to overwhelm us with regrets and discouragement, He has the right words to help us break free from the past! Psalms 103:12: „As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”
Ephesians 2: 4-6: „ But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved”
Isaiah 43:18,19: “Do not remember the former things, / Nor consider the things of old. / Behold, I will do a new thing, / Now it shall spring forth; /
Shall you not know it? / I will even make a road in the wilderness /
And rivers in the desert.”
Psalm 30:5: „ For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.”
Isaiah 40: 29-31: „ He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Remember you no longer live in the past. It does no good to your mind or heart and it doesn’t help you determine your life direction. God doesn’t live there, so neither should you!
